I was recently reading comments online and I was taken aback to see so many self proclaimed "Christians" having such confused and worldly opinions about things. To be a Christian is to be a Christ follower and if our opinion or what we've grown up believing is ever at opposition to what is written in the Bible then we need to realize that we have been wrong and then need to adjust our thinking accordingly. It is so important to be reading the Bible and know the word! Let's believe the truth and stand firm in it.
God and spiritual things are not left for us to just decide what we think on our own. I am always so surprised when I hear people say things about God and the things of the Spirit that are blatantly untrue. I think to myself did they just make that up? Where did they even get that from? It is so important to know the Word because it reveals God and who He is. If we don't truly know God for who he actually is then how could we ever love him? There's this Christian rap song written by Sevin and in it he says, "How quick we are to say we love a God we barely know." I understand we all start somewhere but lets not remain babies, let us grow in our understanding. To be a Warrior in Heels is to be a fully grown, fully awake friend of God.
"There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn't confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me." (John 15:13-15 NLT)
Let us no longer just accept secondhand information about God. Let us go straight to the source and glean directly from him. When Moses had finished spending alone time with God he shone from the glory. When we spend alone time with God the same thing happens to us spiritually. It is not something that can be faked or imitated. Praying for you today, that you will be so filled and so full of Jesus and his truth that you cannot help but shine on others.
